It’s been quite a journey for Mojang Specifications, developers of Minecraft, led by Markus Persson. Since it’s release on May 17, 2009, the man at the centre of the Minecraft phenomenon has reported banking more that $350K per day, declined job offers at Valve and Bungie opting instead to open his own independent development studio and has been targeted in DDOS attacks by an angry fan.

The game has certainly brought fame and fortune to Markus, and now, Minecraft is on the brink of reaching its millionth customer.

The outfit is growing steadily, and Perrson announced on his blog that two new employees have joined.
