Bionic LED contact lenses with 8 pixel resolution

Incorporating heads up displays inside contact lenses could profoundly change the way we perceive reality and interact with each other. The research team led by doctor Parviz in this video are in the very early stages of developing true bionic lens display.

Powered and controlled by radio waves, the single pixel display is visible as blue dot located directly in the middle of the lens. Recently, the team has been able to include eight pixels into the lens and are able to display symbols.

Michio Kaku is firmly convinced that within twenty years the internet will be within our contact lenses, “We will simply blink, and we will be online.”
